TruckersMP VTC Rules: Guidelines for Companies

Learn the official TruckersMP VTC rules, convoy etiquette, and pilot car restrictions so your virtual trucking company stays clear of server bans.

TruckersMP VTC rules define how virtual trucking companies must operate on the platform, both within the web portal and on live servers. Understanding these guidelines ensures your company avoids administrative penalties, convoy disruptions, and player bans.

Running or joining a Virtual Trucking Company (VTC) is one of the most rewarding parts of Euro Truck Simulator 2 multiplayer. However, company membership does not grant special privileges on public roads. TruckersMP enforces strict standards to keep traffic moving and maintain fair gameplay for everyone.

Core Principles: No Special Right of Way

The most common mistake made by new VTC drivers and event managers is assuming that a convoy has priority over regular traffic. On standard TruckersMP servers, including Simulation 1 and Simulation 2, normal traffic laws apply to every vehicle.

  • Convoys do not own the road. You must yield to traffic according to standard right-of-way rules.
  • Convoy members cannot run red lights, ignore stop signs, or force oncoming traffic onto the shoulder.
  • You cannot claim an entire lane or overtake aggressively simply because you are running on a schedule.

If non-convoy players find themselves between your trucks, you must let them drive naturally. Forcing another player out of a lane or tailgating them to clear space violates the core rules against reckless driving.

Pilot Car and Convoy Control Restrictions

Pilot cars add realism to heavy hauls, but TruckersMP limits their authority severely on public simulation servers.

The Golden Rule: Only Staff May Block

Only TruckersMP Game Moderation and Event Team members have the right to block roads, direct traffic, or close intersections. Regular players and VTC staff operating Scout cars with pilot paint jobs cannot:

  • Block intersections or roundabouts to let a convoy pass.
  • Stop in the middle of active lanes to hold back public traffic.
  • Act as unofficial police or tell other players where they can or cannot drive.

Using a pilot car to impede public traffic is classified as blocking or reckless driving. Doing so can result in immediate kicks or bans for the driver involved, and repeated offenses can hurt your company's standing on the platform.

VTC System Profile and Content Standards

The TruckersMP VTC system allows teams to recruit members, track statistics, and publish events. Company profile pages must adhere to general community standards:

  • Company Names and Tags: Names cannot contain profanity, hate speech, political propaganda, or references to illegal activities. You may not impersonate official TruckersMP staff or other established organizations.
  • Logos and Banners: Uploaded media must be suitable for all ages. Any copyright violations or explicit images will result in the VTC page being suspended or deleted.
  • Recruitment Conduct: Spamming public chat, forum threads, or Discord channels to recruit drivers is prohibited. Keep recruitment to designated areas like the official TruckersMP recruitment forums and your own community pages.

In-Game Player Tags

Most VTCs require members to wear a company tag in their player nametag settings. When configuring your tag, follow these requirements:

  • Do not use tag prefixes that imply administrative authority, such as "Admin", "Police", "TMP Staff", or "Moderator".
  • Ensure the tag color remains legible and does not try to mimic TruckersMP staff designations.
  • Keep tags free of offensive language, insults, or references to ongoing real-world conflicts.

Managing Member Liability

TruckersMP treats accounts individually when issuing in-game punishments. If a member of your VTC drives recklessly, rams another player, or uses prohibited modifications, that specific driver receives the ban. The company as a whole will not be banned for the actions of a single driver.

However, systematic violations matter. If a VTC organizes an event that intentionally disrupts public servers, company leadership can face consequences. TruckersMP staff may disband or suspend companies that actively encourage rule-breaking, trolling, or coordinated harassment.

To safeguard your company, implement internal rules:

  1. Maintain a minimum following distance of 70 to 100 meters between trucks in convoys to prevent lag collisions.
  2. Ban the use of save-edited parts that crash nearby players.
  3. Establish an internal penalty system for drivers who collect active bans on their TruckersMP profile.

Validated and Verified VTC Status

TruckersMP offers two advanced tiers for established teams: Validated and Verified. Reaching these tiers requires strict compliance with platform rules.

  • Validated Status: Designed for growing companies. Requirements include having an active roster, an established TruckersMP page, active community participation, and a clean disciplinary history across your management team.
  • Verified Status: Reserved for elite, long-standing organizations. Verified VTCs must demonstrate high monthly activity, professional web presentation, organized public events, and exceptional rule compliance.

Any serious disciplinary incidents involving company leadership can result in the loss of Verified or Validated status. Keep your fleet disciplined and your dispatchers trained on proper road conduct.
